INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT OF AN APARTMENT IN POZNAN

INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT OF AN APARTMENT IN POZNAN

Why do we like to surround ourselves with art and beautiful objects? Why does art often occupy the most important and honorable place in many of our homes? There are several reasons for this. Firstly, art emphasizes the uniqueness of a place and at the same time is a form of expression of our tastes and preferences. Secondly, it enriches and complements the interior design. Thirdly, it can be a great investment. In times of rampant inflation, art is the one thing that doesn’t lose its value and most often gains value. It is often passed down from generation to generation and can become part of family history and tradition.

Or maybe simply surrounding ourselves with beautiful things can help us feel more relaxed and satisfied?

The interior in the photographs is located in a superbly restored historic tenement house from the late 19th century. The traces of Art Nouveau are visible in the precisely reproduced ceiling rosettes and impressive facets.

The interior in the photographs is located in a superbly restored historic tenement house from the late 19th century. The traces of Art Nouveau are visible in the precisely reproduced ceiling rosettes and impressive facets.

Characteristic elements of the interior design are antique mirrors, flat and spherical, as well as patinated glass rods, which were used to create movable partitions and a background for the painting. Glass is also a part of the massive leg of the dining table. The elegant veneered walnut table and chairs were designed and manufactured by the Tarnowski Division. Our studio is also the author of the bar, bookshelf, porcelain cabinet, and standing desk by the marble fireplace. These pieces of furniture are precisely crafted items finished with intricately laid walnut veneer and natural leather.

However, the most important thing in this interior is the paintings. Especially the paintings of the outstanding Polish artist Wojciech Fangor. Intense and hypnotizing, all attention is focused around them.

Old porcelain from the prestigious German Furstenberg manufactory is sought after in the secondary market. It is a part of many collections around the world. Beautiful porcelain could not be missing in the presented interior as well. Contemporary handmade coffee and tea cups, teapots, trays, and bowls made of delicate, thin as a wafer porcelain from Furstenberg are an extremely important element of the decor. The selection and delivery of these beautiful items were taken care of by the Atelier Porcelany – a partner of the Furstenberg manufactory in Poland (www.atelierporcelany.pl).
